Search Warrant Uncovers Stolen Property and Illicit Drugs in Brant County

A police search warrant in Brant County has led to the seizure of stolen property and illicit drugs, resulting in charges against two individuals.

On December 18, 2024, officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU), with support from Oxford CSCU, the Emergency Response Team (ERT), and OPP Canine Services, executed a search warrant at a residence on Governors Road East.

Authorities seized a quantity of methamphetamine and opioids, along with property believed to have been obtained through criminal activity.

A 38-year-old from Brant County faces charges including possession of methamphetamine and opioids for the purpose of trafficking, altering or destroying a vehicle identification number, fraudulent concealment, and possession of property obtained by crime exceeding $5,000.

A 39-year-old, also from Brant County, has been charged with similar offences, in addition to two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

One of the accused was released and is scheduled to appear in court in Brantford on February 13, 2025. The second remains in custody pending a bail hearing.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and more charges may be laid.
