Brantford Police Investigating Downtown Robbery and Shooting

Brantford police are investigating a robbery and shooting that left three people injured in the downtown core on Wednesday, January 22, 2025.

At approximately 5:30 p.m., officers responded to a report of a robbery in progress near Colborne Street and Alfred Street. Two victims had been shot, and a third had been assaulted. All three sustained serious injuries and were transported to hospital, where they remain in stable condition.

Police quickly apprehended one male suspect, who is now in custody. However, officers are actively searching for additional suspect(s). The Brantford Police Service K9 Unit is assisting in the search. Authorities have advised the public to avoid the area unless necessary as a heavy police presence remains on the scene.
