The holiday spirit came alive in St. George this Thursday night as the community gathered at Snowball Park for the annual Christmas Tree Lighting. Organized by the St. George Business Association, the event drew an enthusiastic crowd eager to kick off the festive season.
The centerpiece of the evening was the lighting of the magnificent Christmas tree, which dazzled spectators with its brilliant glow, marking the official start of the holiday celebrations. The event also featured a special guest appearance by Santa Claus, who brought joy to children and families as he posed for photos and spread cheer throughout the park.
“This event is all about bringing the community together,” said a representative of the St. George Business Association. “Seeing so many smiling faces here tonight reminds us why these traditions are so important.”
Adding to the festive atmosphere, Mayor David Bailey of the County of Brant took the stage to present a recognition certificate to the Business Association. The certificate honored their dedication and hard work in organizing the event and fostering a strong sense of community in St. George.
“It’s incredible to see how events like this bring people closer,” said Mayor Bailey. “The Business Association has done an outstanding job creating a night to remember for everyone here.”
Attendees enjoyed holiday music, warm beverages, and a chance to connect with neighbors, making the evening a memorable start to the holiday season.
The Christmas Tree Lighting at Snowball Park has become a cherished tradition in St. George, and this year’s event proved once again why it’s a highlight of the festive calendar.
