Hundreds of attendees braved the cold this evening to enjoy the annual St. George Santa Claus Parade, a cherished tradition that transformed the village into a dazzling display of lights, festive floats, and holiday cheer. With temperatures feeling like minus 10 degrees, spirits remained high as the community gathered to celebrate the season.
The parade, organized by the St. George Firefighters’ Association for over 30 years, followed a scenic route, starting on Beverly Street West, winding down High Street, turning onto Main Street South, and finishing on Main Street North. The grand finale featured Santa himself, spreading joy and signaling the official start of the holiday season.
Spectators, both long-time attendees and first-timers, shared their enthusiasm for the event. Dave Bartlett, a Brantford resident who attended with his family, reflected on the experience.
“We came last year, and this is our second year bringing the kids,” Bartlett said. “I’ve been coming since I was a kid myself, and it’s always a great show. It’s quick, which is perfect for the kids, but it’s also fantastic to see the community involvement, especially from the farming community. The floats are incredible—especially the one with fire at the end. It’s wonderful.”
Ana, another attendee from Brantford, was attending the parade for the first time. “We came because my son is a first responder with Brant County, and he was on the fire truck float.
We wanted to support and participate,” she said. “It was beautiful. The perfect size for young kids on a cold night. The floats were colorful, the lights were stunning, and everyone was so friendly. It was a wonderful experience. I’ll definitely come again next year.”
The St. George Santa Claus Parade continues to be a highlight of the holiday season, uniting families, friends, and neighbors to share in the magic of Christmas. From glowing floats to the warm sense of community, the parade once again proved to be an unforgettable celebration for all in attendance.
