The City of Brantford has unveiled an ambitious Community Engagement Campaign aimed at empowering residents to share their input on critical decisions, including the future of City-owned assets. The initiative, launched today, highlights Brantford’s commitment to involving citizens in shaping policies, programs, and services that matter most to them.

Running until February 28, 2025, the campaign offers diverse ways for residents to engage, from online surveys to public forums and in-person events. The feedback collected will guide updates to the City’s Community Involvement Framework, with the goal of improving communication and expanding opportunities for meaningful public participation.

“Community input is critical to ensuring Council decisions reflect the needs and priorities of Brantford residents,” said Councillor Dan McCreary, Chair of the Public Consultation Task Force. “By meeting people where they are—whether at a hockey game, a public swim, or an online forum—we want to make it as easy as possible for every voice to be heard.”

The campaign is designed to meet residents in their everyday lives, creating convenient and accessible ways to engage with City initiatives. Whether the focus is on enhancing parks, upgrading infrastructure, or developing key policies, resident input will play a vital role in fostering a stronger and more inclusive community.

Key elements of the campaign include:

  • Surveys and Online Engagement: Residents can provide input through the City’s Let’s Talk Brantford engagement portal.
  • Community Engagement Booths: Pop-up booths will appear at events such as Brantford Bulldogs home games and public skates at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre.
  • Public Consultation Meetings: Three dedicated meetings are scheduled for January 18, January 30, and February 13, 2025, to gather in-depth feedback.

Brantford residents will also have opportunities to participate in engagement activities at popular community events and City-hosted programs. City staff aim to foster a transparent and collaborative dialogue, ensuring every resident understands how their input influences decisions.

“Whether it’s improving parks, enhancing infrastructure, or shaping policies, your input is essential to creating a stronger, more inclusive community,” said a City spokesperson.

Residents are encouraged to get involved by attending events, completing surveys, and sharing their ideas. For detailed information on the campaign and participation options, visit Let’s Talk Brantford.

This initiative represents a proactive step in strengthening the relationship between the City and its residents, ensuring Brantford remains a vibrant and responsive community well into the future.
