Toyota Tundra Thefts Surge in Brantford

Brantford Police Service is alerting the public following a surge in Toyota Tundra thefts across the city.

Authorities report five incidents of theft or attempted theft at separate locations over the past week.

Police urge residents to document key vehicle details, including year, make, model, colour, licence plate, VIN, special equipment serial numbers, and any distinguishing marks, to assist investigations in case of theft.

Officials recommend the following security measures:

  • Park in a locked garage.
  • Use a device to block access to the onboard diagnostic port.
  • Secure the steering wheel with a locking device.
  • Store key fobs in a radio-frequency shielding pouch.
  • Install an aftermarket GPS tracker.
  • Account for all keys and keep vehicles locked at all times.
  • Avoid leaving vehicles running unattended.
  • Use surveillance cameras capable of 24-hour recording.

Police urge vigilance.

Report suspicious activity, such as individuals peering into vehicles, to help track crime patterns and identify suspects.
