A fire broke out at a local business on Fourth Line in Ohsweken on Monday evening, prompting a swift response from Six Nations Fire & Emergency Services.
Fire crews arrived at 3500 Fourth Line to find significant fire conditions, with alarms already activated.
With assistance from Haldimand County Fire Services, the fire was brought under control, and no injuries were reported.
Authorities have not yet disclosed the extent of the damage or the name of the affected business.
The Ontario Fire Marshal’s office has launched an investigation into the cause and origin of the fire, working alongside the Six Nations Police Service.
Officials have not yet determined whether the fire was accidental or suspicious in nature. “It is unfortunate to see a valued business impacted by this fire, but we are grateful for no injuries or fatalities,” said Acting Fire Chief Michael Seth. “I extend my heartfelt thanks to all personnel involved for their rapid response.”
