Officers with the Brantford Police Service have arrested three people and seized a significant quantity of illegal drugs, a loaded handgun and other weapons following a month-long drug trafficking investigation.
Police say the probe was launched in January 2026 by the Service’s Drug and Firearm Enforcement Unit in collaboration with the Criminal Intelligence Unit.
On Feb. 23 at approximately 9 p.m., officers arrested three individuals in the area of Market Street and Sheridan Street.
During the arrests, investigators seized 462.6 grams of fentanyl, 677 hydromorphone (Dilaudid) pills, 175.5 grams of methamphetamine and 36.8 grams of cocaine.
Police estimate the combined street value of the drugs at $113,700.
Also seized were digital scales and drug paraphernalia, a stun gun, a butterfly knife, a loaded handgun, a quantity of Canadian currency and a suspect vehicle.
Later that evening, at approximately 11:15 p.m., members of the Emergency Response Team, Drug and Firearm Enforcement Unit, Criminal Intelligence Unit and Forensic Identification Section executed search warrants at two residences in Brantford.
Investigators allege the accused were in breach of both probation and weapons-related prohibition orders.
A 38-year-old Brantford man faces multiple charges, including possession for the purpose of trafficking in fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine and hydromorphone, as well as several firearms and weapons offences.
A 33-year-old Hamilton man is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl, breach of probation and possession of proceeds of crime.
A 34-year-old Hamilton woman is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl.
All three were held for bail hearings.
