Five charged after Brantford police seize fentanyl, cocaine and other drugs in downtown raid

Six people are facing drug-related charges after a police investigation into suspected drug trafficking at a residence in downtown Brantford.

The Brantford Police Service’s Core Engagement and Response Team (CERT) launched the investigation during the winter of 2026 in connection with suspected trafficking activity at a home in the city’s downtown core.

On February 27, 2026, CERT officers, assisted by the Emergency Response Team (ERT), executed a search warrant at the residence under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

During the search, investigators seized 770 hydromorphone pills, 173 grams of suspected cocaine, 136.6 grams of suspected fentanyl and 9.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine.

Police estimate the total street value of the seized drugs at approximately $70,942. Officers also located additional items consistent with drug trafficking.

As a result of the investigation, a 44-year-old man from Brampton, a 33-year-old man from Brantford, a 62-year-old woman from Brantford and a 39-year-old woman from Brantford have each been charged with five counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking involving fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, hydromorphone and heroin.

A 62-year-old man from Brantford is also expected to be charged with the same offences.

In a separate charge related to the investigation, a 28-year-old Brantford man has been charged with possession of a Schedule I substance (fentanyl).

Police said CERT is a specialized team made up of sworn officers and special constables focused on proactive enforcement and addressing criminal activity in Brantford’s downtown core.
