One person was hospitalized after a shooting in Paris early Saturday, prompting an ongoing investigation by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
Police said officers from the Brant County detachment were called to a residence on Bradbury Crescent shortly after midnight on February 21, following reports of gunfire.
Upon arrival, officers found one person suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to hospital and is in stable condition.
Investigators believe two suspects approached the residence and opened fire before fleeing in a dark-coloured sport utility vehicle.
In a video statement released on social media, OPP Sgt. Ed Sanchuk said the incident is believed to have been targeted.
Police released the following descriptions:
The first suspect is described as a Black male, short in stature, with a thin build, a round face, and facial hair. He was wearing all-black clothing.
The second suspect is described as a male wearing a sweater or coat that was white across the upper chest and shoulders and dark on the lower portion.
The Brant County OPP Crime Unit is leading the investigation under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, with assistance from regional units and forensic officers.
Police are asking residents and motorists who were in the area at the time to review surveillance, doorbell, and dashcam footage.
