One Charged Following Intimate Partner Violence Investigation in Brant County

45-year-old Brant County resident faces two counts of spousal assault

A 45-year-old Brant County resident has been charged following an investigation into an intimate partner violence incident earlier this week.

The Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said officers received a report on February 17, 2026, at approximately 4 p.m., regarding an incident that allegedly occurred the previous day, February 16, at around 9 a.m., at a residence in the County of Brant.

Following the investigation, police arrested and charged the individual with two counts of assault, spousal under the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford at a later date.

Police are reminding the public that intimate partner violence can take many forms and that support services are available for those affected.
