City officials noted that an additional information session will be offered after the nomination period closes for individuals who have been formally certified as candidates.

Topics to be covered include the role and authority of Council, the responsibilities of elected officials, time commitments and workload expectations, legislative and ethical requirements, and what to expect during a term of office.

The featured guest speaker will be Rick O’Connor of MuniverseRO Consulting Inc., former Clerk and City Solicitor for the City of Ottawa.
