With the first day of school just months away, the Grand Erie District School Board is helping families prepare for the exciting transition to Kindergarten through its upcoming Kickstart to Kindergarten events.
Designed to support a confident and positive start to school, these interactive events will take place across various Grand Erie schools throughout February and March.
Families with children entering Kindergarten in September 2026 are invited to attend and take part in engaging activities, meet educators, and connect with community partners offering early childhood development resources.
“Grand Erie’s early years staff thoughtfully plan programs and allocate resources that support a smooth and confident start to school for children and families,” said JoAnna Roberto, Director of Education.
“Kindergarten in Grand Erie is a vibrant, welcoming experience grounded in learning and exploration, where our youngest learners strengthen problem-solving skills, build meaningful relationships, and gain a new sense of themselves in the world.”
At each event, families will have the opportunity to participate in the LookSee developmental screening and learn about additional support services available through partners such as Lansdowne Children’s Centre and Haldimand-Norfolk REACH.
While drop-in attendance is welcome, registering in advance secures a timeslot, ensuring families can make the most of their visit.
These events are open to all families with a child starting Kindergarten at a Grand Erie school in September and offer a welcoming environment to connect with educators and other families in the community.
