The Kingston Frontenacs stole two points on the road Tuesday night, edging the Brantford Bulldogs 2–1 in a shootout at TD Civic Centre.
After trailing for much of the game, Kingston clawed back in the third period before clinching the win in the shootout on goals by Aleks Kulemin and Adam Kelly.
Goaltender Gavin Betts was a difference-maker, stopping 24 shots in regulation and both Brantford shooters in the shootout.
Brantford took a 1–0 lead midway through the first period when Gabriel Frasca capitalized on a scramble in front, with assists from Adam Jiricek and Owen Protz.
The Bulldogs maintained their lead through two periods thanks to steady goaltending from David Egorov, who finished the night with 25 saves.
But the Frontenacs found life in the third.
At 8:55, Nolan Snyder tied the game with help from Robin Kuzma, beating Egorov to shift momentum in Kingston’s favour.
The game saw a total of 38 penalty minutes, including multiple fights and instigator calls in a physical opening half.
Despite the parade to the box, both teams went scoreless on the power play—Kingston finishing 0-for-4, Brantford 0-for-1.
With the shootout loss, Brantford’s record moves to 34-7-6-2, but the Bulldogs remain atop the OHL’s Eastern Conference. Kingston improves to 23-22-2-2, gaining critical ground in the playoff race.
Brantford travels to Ottawa for Saturday matinee as two of the Eastern Conference’s best go head-to-head.
