The City of Brantford, in partnership with the Brantford Accessibility Advisory Committee (BAAC), has opened nominations for the 2026 City of Brantford Accessibility Improvement Awards, recognizing individuals, groups and organizations working to improve accessibility across the city.

Residents, businesses and organizations may nominate themselves or others online at Brantford.ca/AccessibilityAwards. Nominations close at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 20, 2026.

The awards recognize contributions in five categories: customer service, transportation, information and communication, employment, and the built environment.

A separate Recognition of Staff Leadership in Accessibility is also awarded to eligible City of Brantford staff, with nominations required to be submitted by members of the public.

“Community leadership plays a key role in creating a barrier-free environment,” said Jenny Sawicki, the City of Brantford’s accessibility coordinator.
