Charlie Paquette scored at 4:57 of overtime as the Brantford Bulldogs defeated the Sudbury Wolves 5–4 on Friday night at Sudbury Community Arena in Ontario Hockey League action.
Marek Vanacker led the Bulldogs with two goals and an assist, including a second-period power-play marker.
Paquette added two goals, including the overtime winner, while Caleb Malhotra also found the net.
Jake O’Brien recorded two assists for Brantford.
Brantford opened the scoring at 12:48 of the first period through Vanacker and responded each time Sudbury regained the lead.
Vanacker tied the game 2–2 on the power play midway through the second period, before Paquette and Malhotra scored in the third to give the Bulldogs a 4–3 advantage.
After Sudbury forced overtime with a power-play goal at 14:50 of the third period, Paquette ended the game in overtime, finishing a play set up by Adam Jiricek.
Ryerson Leenders stopped 29 shots to earn the win for Brantford, which went 1-for-6 on the power play and killed three of six Sudbury advantages.
The Bulldogs outscored the Wolves 4–1 at even strength.
With the victory, Brantford improved to 31-7-6-1 (69 points) and remains first in the Eastern Conference, leading the league in points percentage (.767).
The Bulldogs have scored 203 goals this season while allowing 128 and are riding a 6-0-2-0 stretch over their last eight games.
Brantford returns home on Sunday, January 25, 2026, to host the Barrie Colts, who sit second in the Eastern Conference.
