The Brantford Bulldogs defeated the Peterborough Petes 4–3 on Friday night at the TD Civic Centre in Ontario Hockey League regular-season action.
Peterborough opened the scoring at 12:09 of the first period, with Kieron Walton scoring from Adam Novotný and James Petrovski to take a 1–0 lead into the intermission.
Brantford did not score in the opening frame.
The Petes doubled their lead early in the second period, converting on the power play at 6:47.
Petrovski scored with assists from Novotný and Walton to make it 2–0.
Brantford responded later in the period on the man advantage.
At 14:32, Jett Luchanko scored with assists from Caleb Malhotra and Marek Vanacker, cutting the deficit to 2–1 heading into the third.
Peterborough restored its two-goal cushion at 9:52 of the third period, when Novotný scored at even strength with assists from Adam Levac and Walton, giving the visitors a 3–1 lead.
The Bulldogs mounted a late comeback, beginning at 7:25 of the third when Adam Benák scored with assists from Parker Holmes and Edison Engle. Charlie Paquette tied the game at 12:44 on the power play, assisted by Malhotra and Benák.
Brantford completed the rally at 18:17, with Benák scoring his second goal of the night from Paquette and Adam Jiricek to secure the 4–3 win.
Ryerson Leenders made 32 saves for Brantford, while Easton Rye stopped 26 shots for Peterborough. Benák, Paquette, and Novotný were named the game’s three stars.
Brantford went 2-for-6 on the power play, while Peterborough finished 1-for-2.
The Bulldogs’ next game is scheduled for Saturday, January 17, when the Kingston Frontenacs visit Brantford.
