Two Brantford men were arrested and charged with weapons-related offences following a disturbance at a motel on Colborne Street early Monday morning.
According to police, officers were dispatched at approximately 6:20 a.m. on January 12, 2026, to a motel located near the intersection of Colborne Street and James Avenue after receiving a report of a weapons-related incident.
Police said the call involved a disturbance between four individuals. One man was reported to be armed with a knife, while another was reported to be in possession of brass knuckles. No physical injuries were reported.
As a result of the investigation, a 24-year-old man from Brantford was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, assault with a weapon, and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.
A second individual, a 37-year-old man from Brantford, was also arrested and charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and possession of a prohibited device, namely brass knuckles.
Police said both accused were held in custody for bail hearings.
