The Brantford Bulldogs earned a 2–1 road victory over the Owen Sound Attack on Sunday afternoon at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre, extending their strong position in the Ontario Hockey League’s Eastern Conference during the 2025–26 regular season.
After a scoreless opening period, Brantford broke through at 5:57 of the second period.
Marek Vanacker scored at even strength, with assists from Caleb Malhotra and Owen Protz, giving the Bulldogs a 1–0 lead in a tightly played contest that featured disciplined defensive play at both ends.
The Bulldogs added to their lead midway through the third period.
At 12:12, Ryder Boulton finished a play created by Parker Holmes and Zackary Sandhu, doubling Brantford’s advantage and putting the visitors in control heading into the closing stretch.
Owen Sound responded with a power-play goal at 15:17 of the third period.
Pierce Mbuyi converted with the man advantage, assisted by Lenny Greenberg and Caden Taylor, cutting the deficit to one and setting up a late push by the Attack.
Brantford goaltender Ryerson Leenders turned aside 32 shots over the full 60 minutes to secure the win and was named the game’s first star.
Leenders faced consistent pressure in the third period, including sustained power-play time for Owen Sound, but allowed just one goal.
Matthew Koprowski made 22 saves for the Attack and was named the game’s second star.
Owen Sound finished 1-for-5 on the power play, while Brantford was held scoreless on two opportunities.
The Bulldogs were assessed six penalties for 12 minutes, compared to three minors for the Attack.
With the victory, Brantford improved its record to 24-5-4-1 after 34 games, placing the Bulldogs third in the Eastern Conference standings with 53 points.
Brantford sits just one point behind the Ottawa 67’s and continues to lead the conference in goals scored, with 156, while also posting one of the league’s top penalty-killing percentages at 83.5 per cent.
The Bulldogs return to action on Tuesday, December 30, when they host the Erie Otters at 4:00 p.m. at home, continuing a stretch of games against Eastern Conference opponents as the season moves toward the second half.
