The City of Brantford says the winter phase of the newly developed Arrowdale Park is now open, giving residents access to a sledding hill, weather permitting, and other outdoor amenities.
The sledding hill is open daily from dawn to dusk, subject to conditions.
The city is reminding visitors to follow posted rules and to avoid closed or fenced-off areas to ensure public safety.
Arrowdale Park also features 1.7 kilometres of paved pathways offering elevated views across the park, as well as an off-leash dog park.
The Arrowdale Dog Park remains open year-round, daily from sunrise to sunset, providing a public space for residents to exercise their dogs.
Public and portable washrooms are not currently available on site. The city says both free street parking and on-site parking are available to park users.
Municipal officials note that the City of Brantford is not responsible for loss, damage, or injury resulting from use of the property.
Safety concerns can be reported to the city at 519-759-4150, or to emergency services by calling 911.
Additional park amenities are planned to open in spring and summer 2026, coinciding with a community grand opening celebration.
Planned features include a large splash pad with multiple water elements, a new playground with swings, a multi-use sports court, picnic areas, public washrooms, shade structures, tree plantings, and a new skateboard park.
An Indigenous Garden is also expected to be added to Arrowdale Park in the near future.
Details about the grand opening event are to be shared on the City of Brantford’s social media channels next spring.
The city is encouraging visitors to prioritize safety, be mindful of other park users, and enjoy the new community space responsibly.
