David Egorov turned aside all 39 shots he faced to backstop the Brantford Bulldogs to a 2–0 win over the London Knights on Sunday afternoon at the TD Civic Centre.
Brantford opened the scoring at 5:31 of the first period with a shorthanded goal.
Cooper Dennis finished a play set up by Caleb Malhotra and Zackary Sandhu to give the Bulldogs an early lead they would not relinquish.
The Knights pressed for an equalizer across six power-play opportunities but were denied throughout, with Egorov steady in the crease and Brantford’s penalty kill holding firm.
The Bulldogs added an insurance goal at 13:24 of the third period. Philip Govedaris scored at even strength, converting a setup from Ryder Boulton and Ryan Chamberlain to extend the lead to two.
London finished 0-for-6 on the power play, while Brantford went scoreless on its lone man-advantage chance.
The Bulldogs were outshot but controlled key moments, including the special-teams battle.
Egorov was named the game’s first star, followed by Govedaris and Dennis. Attendance was announced at 3,107.
With the victory, Brantford improved to 23-3-4-1, remaining atop the Eastern Conference standings with 51 points after 31 games.
The Bulldogs’ next game is Friday, Dec. 19, when they visit the Kingston Frontenacs for a 7:05 p.m. start.
