A 45-year-old Brantford woman is facing multiple criminal charges after two stolen vehicles were involved in separate collisions early Thursday morning.
Brantford Police Service (BPS) received the first call at approximately 6:40 a.m. reporting a motor vehicle theft in the area of Harris Avenue and West Street.
Shortly after the theft was reported, the stolen vehicle was involved in a collision nearby. Officers located the vehicle, but the driver had fled the scene.
Moments later, a second theft was reported near Gilkinson Street and Colborne Street. The suspect vehicle was then involved in a multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of Dalhousie Street and Brant Avenue.
Officers responded immediately and located a female suspect nearby. She was placed under arrest without incident.
The Brantford woman is charged with:
- Theft of a Motor Vehicle (x2)
- Dangerous Operation (x2)
- Fail to Stop After Accident (x3)
She remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
The intersection of Dalhousie Street and Brant Avenue was closed following the collision but has since reopened.
