The City of Brantford has announced the return of Sensitive Santa, a beloved community tradition that offers children with sensory sensitivities the chance to enjoy a calm and inclusive visit with Santa Claus.

The event will take place on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Sanderson Centre for the Performing Arts, located at 88 Dalhousie Street.

“Everyone deserves the magic of meeting Santa in a way that feels safe, calm and joyful,” said Jenny Sawicki, Accessibility Coordinator for the City of Brantford.

“Sensitive Santa events provide an inclusive and supportive environment where individuals with sensory sensitivities can enjoy a calm, comfortable and personalized visit with Santa.”

Now in its seventh year, Sensitive Santa remains a free, specially designed holiday experience that minimizes noise, bright lights and long wait times — common stressors for individuals with sensory processing challenges.

The event provides families with an opportunity to enjoy one-on-one time with Santa in a peaceful setting.

Children can choose to sit or stand with Santa, share their holiday wishes, or simply spend quiet time together.

City staff will capture professional photographs and email them to families following the visit, and families are also welcome to take their own photos.

Space is limited, and pre-registration is required. Families interested in attending are encouraged to contact jsawicki@brantford.ca or call 519-759-4150 ext. 5391 for more information or to secure a spot.

The City emphasizes that Sensitive Santa is part of its ongoing commitment to accessibility and inclusion, guided by the principles of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).

By offering programs that reduce barriers and foster equal access, Brantford continues to strengthen its reputation as a welcoming and inclusive community for all residents.
