Three Drivers Charged in Separate Traffic Incidents Across Brant County

The Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid multiple charges in three separate incidents over the Halloween weekend, including two stunt driving offences and one impaired driving arrest involving assaults on police officers.

On October 31, 2025, at approximately 4:30 p.m., an officer conducting patrols on Pauline Johnson Road observed a vehicle travelling at an excessive speed. Radar registered the vehicle at 128 km/h in a posted 60 km/h zone.

A 36-year-old man from Dundas was charged with:

  • Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt – Excessive Speed
  • Speeding – 128 km/h in a 60 km/h zone

The driver’s licence was suspended for 30 days, and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days under Ontario’s stunt driving laws.

Impaired Driving and Assault Charges in Paris

Later that evening, around 7:26 p.m., Brant County OPP responded to a traffic complaint on Hartley Avenue in Paris. Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.

Following the investigation, police arrested a 25-year-old man from Waterloo, who now faces multiple charges:

  • Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration Over 80
  • Assault a Peace Officer (×2)
  • Mischief (×2)

The accused was held in custody and appeared for a bail hearing on November 1. Police say the case underscores the ongoing risks associated with impaired driving, which remains one of the leading causes of serious and fatal collisions in Ontario.

Highway 403 Speeding Incident

Just hours later, on November 1, 2025, at approximately 12:45 a.m., an OPP officer conducting speed enforcement on Highway 403 west near Bishopsgate Road stopped another vehicle travelling at a dangerous speed.

The vehicle was clocked at 168 km/h in a posted 110 km/h zone. A 28-year-old male driver from Windsor was charged with:

  • Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt – Excessive Speed
  • Speeding – 168 km/h in a 110 km/h zone

The driver’s licence was suspended for 30 days, and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days.

In a statement, the OPP reaffirmed its commitment to road safety through proactive enforcement and public education, emphasizing that stunt driving and impaired driving endanger all road users.
