County of Brant is calling on residents to nominate outstanding volunteers for its 2025 Volunteer Recognition Awards, an annual celebration honouring individuals and groups whose contributions help strengthen the fabric of the local community.
Now open for submissions, the awards program seeks to highlight both long-time and emerging volunteers, recognizing their efforts across a range of categories.
In addition to acknowledging “Simply Grand Volunteers” — those who have contributed 15 or more years of service — the County will present awards in three distinct categories: Emerging Leader, Community Leader, and Community Impact.
“We are truly blessed to have such dedicated volunteers supporting so many incredible initiatives,” said Mayor David Bailey in a release.
“These residents are the heart of our community, and their contributions are what make the County of Brant such a special place.”
The Emerging Leader award will recognize individuals aged 10 to 24 who demonstrate leadership through volunteer work and help build stronger communities.
The Community Leader category honours an individual who has made a sustained and meaningful impact as a mentor and volunteer. Meanwhile, the Community Impact award celebrates a nonprofit group that has driven positive change through innovative programs and collaboration.
This marks the second year the three award categories have been included in the County’s volunteer recognition initiative.
Residents are encouraged to nominate individuals or organizations that exemplify community spirit and service. Nominations can be submitted online at www.brant.ca/Volunteer or by calling 519-44BRANT (519-442-7268), ext. 3254.
The nomination period closes Friday, November 14, 2025.
The award recipients will be formally recognized at the County’s Volunteer Recognition Ceremony in early December, an annual event honouring the individuals and organizations who contribute to making Brant “the best place to live, work and play.”
