With the help of Police Service Dog Mack, Brantford Police have arrested and charged a 21-year-old man wanted in connection with a series of residential break-ins in the city’s Henderson Survey area.
Shortly after 12:45 a.m. on October 5, officers responded to a report of an attempted break and enter at a Franklin Street home.
Police say the suspect was seen trying to gain entry to the residence and nearby vehicles but fled when unsuccessful.
The man ran through several backyards before being apprehended by K-9 Mack while attempting to climb a fence.
Investigators later linked the suspect to an earlier break-in on August 23, when a Kingsway Crescent homeowner’s garage was entered and several items were stolen.
A 21-year-old Brantford man now faces multiple Criminal Code charges, including:
- Trespassing by Night (x4)
- Break and Enter a Dwelling with Intent to Commit an Indictable Offence
- Break and Enter a Place, Commit an Indictable Offence
Police thanked residents in the area for reporting suspicious activity and reminded the public to secure doors and windows, install motion lighting or cameras where possible, and report any unusual behaviour to authorities.
