Impaired and Stunt Driving Charges Laid in Brant County

Ontario Provincial Police have laid multiple charges in two separate incidents involving impaired and stunt driving on Highway 403 over the weekend.

Impaired Driving Arrest

On September 28, 2025, at approximately 12:44 a.m., Brant County OPP stopped a vehicle on the Highway 403 westbound off-ramp at Wayne Gretzky Parkway after officers observed erratic driving.

The driver, identified as 39-year-old Godwill Forsack Tambong of Brantford, failed a roadside screening test and was taken into custody. He faces the following charges:

  • Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration Over 80
  • Dangerous Operation

Tambong was released and is scheduled to appear in court in Brantford on October 10, 2025.

Police note that impaired driving remains one of the leading causes of serious collisions and fatalities in Ontario. They continue to urge the public to call 9-1-1 if they suspect impaired driving, reminding residents that “your call could save a life.”

Stunt Driving Charge

Two nights earlier, on September 26, 2025, at approximately 10:30 p.m., an OPP officer stopped a vehicle on Highway 403 eastbound near Bishopsgate Road after it was clocked at 167 km/h in a posted 110 km/h zone.

A 22-year-old driver from Mississauga has been charged with:

  • Stunt Driving – Excessive Speed
  • Speeding – 167 km/h in a 110 km/h Zone
  • Failing to Surrender Vehicle Permit

Under Ontario’s stunt driving legislation, the driver’s licence was suspended for 30 days, and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days.

Police stress that stunt driving puts all road users at risk, emphasizing that speed limits are in place to protect the public.
