Grade 9 students at North Park Collegiate and Vocational School will have a unique chance to integrate health and fitness into their daily routines, thanks to a new partnership with the Gretzky Sports Centre.
As part of a pilot project, every North Park Grade 9 student will be eligible for a complimentary membership to the city’s flagship sports facility. The pass provides access to the swimming pool, ice rinks, drop-in sports, fitness classes, and other amenities.
“Providing learners with free passes to the sports centre not only encourages physical fitness but also fosters a sense of community and well-being,” said JoAnna Roberto, Director of Education.
“Physical activity boosts confidence, sharpens focus and fuels learning, so this partnership is a perfect fit for the North Park school community.”
Located directly beside the high school, the Gretzky Centre offers convenient access before and after class, in the evenings, and on weekends. Organizers hope the initiative will help students explore new activities, connect with peers, and build lasting healthy habits.
To take part, students simply need to show their North Park student ID at the front desk of the Gretzky Sports Centre.
