The names of 23 veterans are being added to the Brant War Memorial in downtown Brantford, ensuring their service and sacrifice are formally recognized.
The additions include 22 veterans from the Second World War and one from the First World War.
The names were confirmed through a community consultation and review process that concluded in late 2024.
The inscription work is being carried out by Ingham Monuments of Brantford, whose owners offered to complete the work as a donation.
City officials say the engraving is scheduled to take place today and may continue tomorrow, depending on weather conditions.
An official unveiling of the new inscriptions will take place during the city’s Remembrance Day ceremony on November 11, with remarks to honour the veterans and acknowledge their legacy.
Further details about the service will be released in the coming weeks.
