Brantford author and music educator Erin Huxley is set to unveil her latest children’s book, Harmony Woods: Camp Tempo, during a public celebration at the Brantford Polish Hall on Sunday, September 28, 2025.
The free, family-friendly event will run from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., combining live readings, interactive activities, and community engagement.
Huxley will give the first public reading of Camp Tempo, the newest installment in her Harmony Woods series, while also revisiting her debut title, Penny and Freddy Search High and Low.
Organizers say the afternoon will feature mask-making, scavenger hunts, photo opportunities with stuffed characters from the books, and music-themed games designed for children and families.
Speeches and community remarks are scheduled midway through the program, followed by a Q&A session with the author.
Book signings and meet-and-greet opportunities will round out the celebration.
Beyond promoting literacy, the event also carries a charitable dimension.
Proceeds from book sales will be donated to Sato Saved End of the Line Rescue & Rehabilitation, an animal welfare organization.
Guests are encouraged to contribute dog food, treats, and toys to support the shelter’s work.
“Through the Harmony Woods series, I want to inspire children to explore music, imagination, and the natural world,” Huxley said ahead of the launch.
“This event is about sharing stories in a way that connects families and strengthens community.”
Books will be available for purchase at $15, with admission to the event free of charge.
