Suspect Arrested After Ramming Brantford Police Cruisers in Stolen Vehicle

A 21-year-old man from Quebec is facing multiple charges after an attempted vehicle theft in Brantford led to a dramatic police pursuit and the ramming of two cruisers early Tuesday morning.

On July 29, 2025, at approximately 4:00 a.m., Brantford Police officers attempted to stop a stolen vehicle at the intersection of Wayne Gretzky Parkway and Elgin Street.

According to police, the suspect rammed two cruisers in an attempt to escape. Both vehicles sustained significant damage.

After abandoning the stolen vehicle, the man fled on foot. Officers pursued him to the area of Elgin Street and Stanley Street, where he was taken into custody without further incident.

The 21-year-old now faces the following charges:

• Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle

• Theft of a Motor Vehicle

• Possession of Stolen Property over $5,000

No injuries were reported, and the investigation remains ongoing.
