A 48-year-old man from Brantford is facing multiple charges after allegedly brandishing a handgun during a road rage incident on Monday afternoon.
On July 28, 2025, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Brantford Police Service officers responded to reports of a road rage incident involving a firearm in the area of King George Road and Norman Street, near Powerline Road.
Police say the accused had been tailgating another driver before passing the vehicle, uttering a threat, and waving a handgun.
Officers later located the suspect on Grand River Avenue, where he was arrested without incident.
A handgun, an open container of cannabis, and an open alcoholic beverage were observed in plain view inside the vehicle’s center console.
The 48-year-old Brantford man has been charged with:
• Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm (Criminal Code)
• Intimidation – Use of Violence (Criminal Code)
• Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose (Criminal Code)
• Drive Vehicle with Cannabis in Open Original Packaging (Cannabis Control Act)
• Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor (Liquor License Control Act)
Police are reminding the public of the serious risks associated with aggressive driving and impaired operation of motor vehicles.
