The City of Brantford is moving forward with the implementation of an Automated Speed Enforcement (ASE) program, with operations scheduled to begin later this fall.

ASE uses a combination of camera and speed measurement technology to detect and record vehicles exceeding the posted speed limit in designated community safety zones.

The City confirmed the installation of “Municipal Speed Camera Coming Soon” signs at five locations in the coming weeks:

• Colborne Street West, between Shellard Lane and Ballantyne Drive

• Brant Avenue, between Bedford Street and West Street

AD

• Fairview Drive, between Memorial Drive and West Street

• Colborne Street, between Glenwood Drive and Johnson Road

• Dalhousie Street, between Clarence Street and Colborne Street

According to the City of Brantford, revenue collected from speeding fines issued through the ASE system will be reinvested in traffic safety initiatives across the municipality.

The ASE program operates under the authority of the Ontario Highway Traffic Act, which permits municipalities to designate community safety zones and use automated enforcement tools in those areas.

More information, including updates on camera locations and program details, is available at Brantford.ca/ASE.
