A 28-year-old Brantford man has been arrested and charged after a woman was violently assaulted in an incident that police describe as both physical and sexual in nature.

According to the Brantford Police Service, the investigation began on Sunday morning, July 13, 2025, when an Ontario Provincial Police officer located a woman with serious injuries near Golf Road and Highway 403.

The officer, who was in the area on an unrelated matter, immediately rendered assistance.

The victim was transported to hospital, treated, and has since been released. Victim Services of Brantford-Brant are providing support.

Police say the initial investigation determined that the victim had been picked up earlier that morning near Queen and Darling Street by a man driving a pick-up truck.

The suspect allegedly drove the victim to the area near Golf Road and Highway 403, where she was physically and sexually assaulted before the suspect fled in the vehicle.

Through coordinated efforts, officers were able to locate the suspect vehicle in another jurisdiction. On July 15, at approximately 1:30 p.m., police arrested the accused.

Alveen AHMAD, 28, of Brantford, has been charged with:

  • Attempt Murder
  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Kidnapping
  • Aggravated Sexual Assault

He remains in custody pending a bail hearing.

In an effort to identify any other potential victims, investigators have released the identity of the accused and a photograph of the vehicle believed to have been used during the offence—a black 2022 Dodge Ram pick-up truck.

Police are asking anyone who recognizes the suspect or the vehicle, or who may have additional information, to come forward.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
