A 30-year-old man is facing multiple charges after officers with the Brantford Police Service (BPS) located weapons and a large quantity of illegal drugs during a downtown foot patrol.
On Thursday, June 5, 2025, at around 1:00 p.m., members of the Core Engagement and Response Team (CERT) were on patrol in the area of Colborne Street near Wharfe Street when they identified a man wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant.
Police say the man was arrested without incident. A search following the arrest led to the discovery of suspected fentanyl and cocaine, along with an expandable baton and a knife.
The Brantford resident has been charged with:
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Carrying a Concealed Weapon
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
CERT officers, including both sworn members and special constables, focus on proactive enforcement and addressing criminal activity in the downtown core. The unit supports frontline patrol efforts and works to enhance community safety.
