Brantford man arrested on weapons and drug charges during downtown patrol

A 30-year-old man is facing multiple charges after officers with the Brantford Police Service (BPS) located weapons and a large quantity of illegal drugs during a downtown foot patrol.

On Thursday, June 5, 2025, at around 1:00 p.m., members of the Core Engagement and Response Team (CERT) were on patrol in the area of Colborne Street near Wharfe Street when they identified a man wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant.

Police say the man was arrested without incident. A search following the arrest led to the discovery of suspected fentanyl and cocaine, along with an expandable baton and a knife.

The Brantford resident has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Carrying a Concealed Weapon
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
