Driver Charged After Speeding Near Camera Zone in Brant County

A 24-year-old Brant County man is facing multiple charges after police say he was caught driving nearly twice the speed limit on Cleaver Road.

On May 20, Brant County OPP were conducting patrols in the area following complaints about speeding near speed enforcement cameras.

Officers observed a vehicle travelling more than 50 km/h over the posted 80 km/h limit.

The driver was charged with six offences, including excessive speed, speeding 50 km/h over the limit, operating without insurance, unauthorized license plate, obstructed view, and improper muffler.

He is scheduled to appear in court on June 26.

Police are reminding the public that stunt driving is a serious offence in Ontario, with penalties that may include immediate vehicle impoundment, license suspension, and significant fines.
