A Brantford man is facing criminal charges after Ontario Provincial Police responded to a reported break-and-enter at a rural residence in the County of Brant.
According to the Brant County detachment of the OPP, officers were dispatched to a home on McLellan Road shortly after 6:00 p.m. on Monday, May 19, 2025.
Upon arrival, police discovered an individual unlawfully inside the residence.
Following a brief investigation, the suspect was taken into custody without incident.
Paul Helmer, 47, of Brantford, has been charged with being unlawfully in a dwelling house and mischief under $5,000.
Helmer is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford on June 19, 2025.
