Brantford residents are being warned of possible measles exposure at several public locations after a confirmed case in the region.

Grand Erie Public Health says exposure may have occurred at the Lynden Park Mall Food Basics on two separate occasions—May 10 between 9:30 and 11:30 a.m., and May 12 between 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. Another potential exposure site is the Circle K/Esso at 433 Fairview Drive on May 12 from 7 to 9 p.m.

Officials also identified an exposure site in Paris at Thrive AbleLiving (The Willett) on May 9 from 3 to 11 p.m.

Anyone who was at these locations during the specified times is urged to complete a measles exposure form at www.geph.ca/measlesform to receive guidance on next steps.

People born in or after 1970 who haven’t had measles or received two doses of the measles vaccine are considered at risk. The MMR vaccine may help prevent infection if given within 72 hours of exposure. Immunocompromised individuals, pregnant people, and infants may be eligible for immunoglobulin within six days of exposure.
