Brantford Police are investigating after an unoccupied pickup truck was struck by a train in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
At approximately 3:15 a.m. on May 14, 2025, officers responded to a report of a collision involving a train and a vehicle on the rail tracks east of Wayne Gretzky Parkway. Upon arrival, police determined that the truck had been abandoned and was empty at the time of impact. No injuries were reported.
The vehicle has since been removed from the tracks. A comprehensive search of the area was conducted using the Brantford Police Service Canine Unit and drone technology, but no individuals associated with the vehicle were located.
At this time, no charges have been laid. The investigation has been handed over to CN Police, who are working in collaboration with local authorities.
Brantford Police are asking anyone who may have seen suspicious activity or persons in the area of Wayne Gretzky Parkway and the CN overpass around the time of the incident to come forward. Drivers with dash cam footage showing the vehicle leaving the roadway are also urged to contact A/Sgt. Shannon Parks of the BPS Traffic Unit at 519-756-7050.
