The Ontario Provincial Police are investigating significant infrastructure damage after an eastbound transport truck hauling an excavator struck four overpasses along Highway 403 in the County of Brant late Thursday morning.
Police say they received reports around 10:39 a.m. that a red tractor-trailer traveling eastbound with an excavator on board struck the overpasses at Tollgate Road, Paris Road, Ewing Drive, and King George Road.
Brant OPP confirm that no injuries have been reported, but multiple bridges sustained visible damage. The full extent of the structural impact is still being assessed by Ministry of Transportation engineers.
Motorists in the area experienced delays and lane reductions as crews inspected the affected overpasses.
