A man and woman from Mt. Pleasant are facing numerous charges after police seized firearms, cocaine, and stolen identification during a traffic stop on Grey Street.
The stop occurred on April 12, 2025. According to the Brantford Police Service, officers pulled over a vehicle with two occupants — a male driver and a female passenger.
While speaking with the driver, officers observed a firearm in plain view inside the vehicle. Both individuals were arrested at the scene.
A search of the vehicle uncovered a modified .22 calibre rifle, classified as a prohibited firearm, as well as an imitation firearm and a revolver with altered serial markings.
Officers also seized approximately 127 grams of suspected cocaine, with an estimated street value of $12,700, along with drug paraphernalia including pipes and a digital scale.
Police also located a stolen Canadian passport and an Ontario health card.
A 34-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman have each been charged with multiple firearm and drug-related offences, including possession of a prohibited firearm, unauthorized possession in a motor vehicle, possession for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of stolen identity documents. Both were held for a bail hearing.
