An illegal cannabis storefront operating near Colborne Street and Clarence Street in Brantford has been shut down following a community complaint, leading to the arrest of two Barrie men and the seizure of more than $130,000 in illicit cannabis products.
According to the Brantford Police Service (BPS), the investigation began on January 27, 2025, after a concerned citizen alerted authorities about the suspected illegal activity.
Police later confirmed the retail location was unlicensed and in violation of the Cannabis Act.
On April 10, 2025, members of the BPS Core Engagement and Response Team (CERT) executed a search warrant at the property. Officers seized approximately $130,860 worth of illegal cannabis and cannabis-related products during the operation.
Two men, aged 50 and 51, both residents of Barrie, were arrested at the scene.
They have been charged with distribution of illicit cannabis and possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling.
