A two-vehicle collision involving pickup trucks brought traffic to a halt along Highway 24 late Saturday morning, prompting an emergency response from the Brant County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
The incident occurred shortly before 11:00 a.m. on Highway 24, between Colborne Street West and Robinson Road. No injuries were reported, but police confirmed that one of the drivers was taken into custody at the scene. The nature of the arrest has not yet been disclosed.
In response to the crash, OPP officers temporarily closed the affected stretch of Highway 24 in both directions.
The closure was expected to last for approximately one hour as officers conduct their investigation and clear the scene.
Motorists were being advised to avoid the area and plan alternate routes until the road reopens.
