The Board of Health for Grand Erie Public Health (GEPH) has announced that Chief Executive Officer Brent Richardson is no longer with the organization. The Board has not released further details regarding his departure.
In a statement issued today, the Board emphasized its ongoing commitment to high standards of governance and public health service delivery. To ensure a smooth transition, the Board has engaged a recognized executive recruitment firm to lead the search for GEPH’s next permanent CEO. The recruitment process is currently underway.
GEPH was formed following the recent merger of two public health entities, and the Board said it is seeking a leader capable of building on that integration and advancing the organization’s strategic priorities.
In the meantime, Brad Stark and Sarah Page have been appointed to provide shared leadership. Their interim roles are designed to maintain operational continuity and stability across the region.
Board Chair Amy Martin called the leadership transition “a defining moment” for the organization.
“We are focused on welcoming a new CEO who will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our newly integrated organization while also ensuring that the communities we serve continue to receive high-quality, timely and equitable public health services,” said Martin. “The Board is committed to our future goals and remains steadfast in our commitment to excellence, collaboration, and public trust.”
Grand Erie Public Health serves communities across Brant, Haldimand, Norfolk, and surrounding areas, and plays a critical role in delivering services such as immunizations, infectious disease monitoring, health promotion, and emergency preparedness.
No timeline has been provided for the appointment of the new CEO.
