The City of Brantford is inviting muralists and mural collectives to submit proposals for a new public artwork to be installed at Rotary Centennial Waterworks Park during the summer of 2025.
Located at 390 Grand River Avenue, the park is a prominent recreational space with historical significance dating back to 1888, when Brantford established its first waterworks system. The Brantford Waterworks Building, completed in 1889, began delivering residential water services by the following year. Today, the park features a soccer field, baseball diamond, cricket pitch, the Rotary Bike Park, and access to local trails and the Grand River.
The City will select the artist or collective through a one-stage open call process. The selected artist will receive a fee of $5,500.00 (exclusive of HST), covering all costs associated with the creation of the mural, including artist fees, design, materials, and other professional services.
Proposals must be submitted by Friday, May 9, 2025, at 4:30 p.m. Questions can be directed to culture@brantford.ca. Additional information about the mural project is available at www.Brantford.ca/WaterworksMural.
