Drivers in the Greater Toronto Area and several Ontario cities can expect another break at the pumps this weekend, as gas prices are set to drop by eight to nine cents per litre on Saturday.
The anticipated decrease comes in the wake of a major sell-off in energy markets, triggered by ongoing uncertainty surrounding U.S. tariff decisions.
Crude oil prices plunged more than six per cent Thursday, leading to an 18-cent-per-gallon drop on the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX).
Pump prices across the GTA, Hamilton, London, Kitchener-Waterloo, Barrie, and Ottawa could fall to around $1.32 per litre.
This latest dip follows an earlier average 20-cent-per-litre drop earlier this week, after the federal government removed the consumer carbon tax on April 1.
Motorists are being advised to hold off on filling up until Saturday to take full advantage of the savings.
