Doors Open Along the Grand Returns May 10 with Free Access to 15 Heritage Sites

The City of Brantford, County of Brant, and Six Nations of the Grand River have announced the return of Doors Open Along the Grand, set for Saturday, May 10, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The one-day event invites the public to explore 15 heritage buildings and cultural sites across the three communities, all free of charge.

Part of the Doors Open Ontario program, the event offers visitors rare access to spaces that are typically closed to the public or usually require paid admission. From historic churches and libraries to greenhouses, sports halls, and Indigenous cultural landmarks, the day promises a unique look into the region’s diverse past and present.

  • The Arlington Hotel, Paris
  • Bell Homestead National Historic Site, Brantford
  • Brantford and Area Sports Hall of Recognition, Brantford
  • Brantford Flight Centre, Brantford
  • City of Brantford Greenhouses, Brantford
  • Brantford Public Library – Main Branch, Brantford
  • Chiefswood National Historic Site, Ohsweken
  • Creek View Acres Nursery & Orchard, Brantford
  • Former Cockshutt Moulded Aircraft Factory, Brantford
  • His Majesty’s Royal Chapel of the Mohawks, Brantford
  • The Howell Block, St. George
  • Onondaga Community Hall, Onondaga
  • Salt Springs Church, Brantford
  • St. Paul’s Chapel, Caledonia
  • Woodland Cultural Centre, Brantford

Organizers encourage residents and visitors alike to plan their route early and take advantage of this opportunity to discover the stories behind some of the region’s most fascinating spaces.

Doors Open Along the Grand is part of Doors Open Ontario, an initiative of the Ontario Heritage Trust, which works to preserve, interpret, and share Ontario’s rich cultural and natural heritage.
