Brant Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to multiple incidents involving impaired driving over the weekend, resulting in charges against three individuals in separate collisions and traffic stops.
March 10: Single-Vehicle Crash on Pinehurst Drive
On March 10, 2025, at approximately 11:08 p.m., Brant OPP officers were called to a single-vehicle collision on Pinehurst Drive near Glen Morris Road West. Upon arrival, officers discovered a vehicle resting on its side in a ditch with significant damage.
A 26-year-old male from St. George was arrested at the scene after officers observed signs of impairment. He has been charged with:
- Operation While Impaired – Alcohol
- Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus)
The accused was released with a future court date. His driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
March 9: Vehicle in Ditch on Shellard Lane
Earlier that weekend, on March 9, 2025, at 8:36 p.m., officers responded to another single-vehicle collision, this time on Shellard Lane. Police found a vehicle that had left the roadway and entered a ditch. The driver, a 19-year-old from Mississauga, showed signs of impairment and was subsequently arrested.
He has been charged with:
- Operation While Impaired – Alcohol
- Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus)
- Dangerous Operation
The accused was released with a scheduled court appearance in Brantford. His driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
March 9: Early Morning Traffic Stop on Cockshutt Road
At approximately 3:17 a.m. on March 9, 2025, Brant County OPP observed a vehicle swerving into the oncoming lane on Cockshutt Road. Officers conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver after determining signs of impairment.
The driver has been charged with:
- Operation While Impaired – Alcohol
- Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus)
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
