The City of Brantford is inviting local performers and artists to participate in the upcoming Culture Days on the Trails event.

Open to residents of Brantford, the County of Brant, Six Nations of the Grand River, and Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, the event will highlight a range of artistic talents along the SC Johnson Trail.

Singers, dancers, poets, spoken word artists, musicians, theatre performers, and live painters are encouraged to submit proposals to be part of the event, which will take place on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Artists selected to participate will be stationed along a 2.6-kilometre stretch of the trail, between the Hardy Road parking lot and Lafayette Avenue. This section of the trail passes behind Glenhyrst Art Gallery of Brant and the Brantford Golf and Country Club, with scenic views overlooking the Grand River.

Throughout the event, visitors will be able to walk the trail while enjoying a variety of performances and artistic displays.

Selected artists will receive $250 in compensation for their three-hour performance window. In case of inclement weather, a rain date is scheduled for Sunday, September 21, 2025.

“This celebration showcases the incredible talent that we have here in Brantford while also promoting inclusivity, participation and engagement in arts and culture,” said Adrienne Briggs, Arts and Culture Coordinator for the City of Brantford.

Artists interested in participating can apply online at www.discoverbrantford.ca/CultureDays. Applications will be accepted until Friday, May 9, 2025, at 4:30 p.m. Questions about the Call for Artists can be directed to culture@brantford.ca.

Culture Days is an annual, nationwide celebration of arts and culture. Every year, millions of people across Canada attend free events—both in-person and online—that aim to foster community engagement and highlight the value of artistic expression.
