The County of Brant Fire Department is accepting applications for volunteer firefighters, with recruitment now open until Monday, March 31, 2025, at 9:00 a.m.
The volunteer firefighter program offers residents an opportunity to serve their community while receiving specialized training in fire suppression, emergency response and public safety. Successful candidates will join a team that plays a critical role in providing emergency services across the county.
Applicants will go through a multi-stage selection process that begins with a written aptitude test, followed by a group one-way interview. Candidates will also complete a physical and mental abilities screening, an individual interview and reference checks.
Once selected, recruits will begin training through the County of Brant Fire Department’s Recruit Training Program. After completing this initial training, new recruits will serve a 12-month probationary period, where they must meet specific performance standards and complete further training before becoming full members of the department.
Volunteer firefighters in Brant respond to a wide range of emergencies, including fires, medical calls, vehicle collisions and public safety incidents.
Applications are being accepted online through the County of Brant Fire Recruitment webpage. More information on eligibility requirements, training commitments and application details can also be found on the county’s website.
